Intake Volunteers are the first face of Wildlife Care when members of the public bring us injured, sick or orphaned wildlife.

Intake Volunteers greet the public, transfer the animals to triage, and use our computerized intake system gather information about the animal and it’s rescue.

This position is open to volunteers 16 years or older. However, per Fish and Wildlife, if you are under 18 years old, you will may not handle the wildlife and some else can do the transfer to triage for you. New volunteers receive training and have their first two shifts supervised.

Expected minimum time commitment is two hours weekly. Shifts are 10am-12pm, 12-2pm, 2-4pm, and 4-6pm every day of the week. During the slow season the minimum is 2 hours bi-weekly.
