Are you interested in local history? Looking for an interesting volunteer opportunity? We invite you to join the Friends of the Bailey House and become a docent at the historic Bailey House-the first home in the City of Whittier.
Bailey House docents typically volunteer about 3 hours a month. Docents are needed on Sunday afternoons, 1 to 4 pm when the House is open for public tours, or for school tours which are primarily scheduled on weekday mornings. Friends of the Bailey House also participate in Whittier’s Founders Day and sometimes host special events at the Bailey House. We have a meeting once a month (attendance optional) to plan our activities.
Training materials are provided and our trainer works closely with docents to make this a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
