Website Life on Earth Art

Life on Earth Art provides a platform of healing through art.

Life on Earth Art welcomes you to lend your hands and your hearts in this unique volunteer art making opportunity. Come for a one-time commitment at our studio or make it a part of your weekly schedule.

We will work with your schools to allow you to earn volunteer or project learning credit.

First time volunteers will learn the history and technique of paper mâché and then dive into the art making process to create winged hearts. Continuing volunteers will deepen their knowledge and experience with instruction on stitching the heart together, positioning the wings, and painting the models.

Your efforts go towards a first-of-its-kind installation, Unbound:

Unbound is a 60-foot sculpture of hundreds of winged hearts flying free from an antique cage, growing in expression and size from 9 inches to 9 feet.

Unbound transforms a hall in one of California’s largest psychiatric hospitals in Napa into an evocative space of healing, creativity and wonder.

Hospital patients, therapists and staff co-create this deeply moving work of art together with myriad community volunteers.

Come be a part of this uplifting sculpture of hope and freedom! We need to make hundreds of paper mâché winged hearts.

Please get in contact if you would like to get involved, open studio hours are Wednesday – Sunday 9am – 5pm. Orientation required.
