This volunteer activity included writing letters to our military troops, frontline healthcare heroes, and people who work in law enforcement. Operation Gratitude offered many unique ways to send items to show appreciation for our troops. I enjoyed seeing the hand-knitted/crotchet scarves and hats that were included in care packages.

 

When I was writing letters, I tried to focus on positive things that were happening, and I included news about sports and popular leisure activities. Throughout many of my letters, I emphasized how grateful I am for the sacrifices that our military troops make. I tried to imagine how hard it must be for our troops to be separated from their family. I hope that my letters will help to make their day a little better.
