Website Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento builds and repairs homes in Sacramento and Yolo County for low-income families through collaboration with volunteers, sponsors, and other area service organizations. At Habitat, we believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home. Every year, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento utilizes over 2,500 volunteers to help change lives in our community.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento offers volunteer opportunities on our construction sites helping build and repair Habitat homes for families in need, in our ReStore, which is our retail outlet that sells new and used building supplies and furniture to help generate funds to support Habitat’s mission, and in our office helping with data entry and various administrative tasks.

The minimum age is 16. Volunteers 16 and 17 on the construction site must have a parent or legal guardian present with them at all times.

Due to COVID-19, we are not taking general volunteers on the construction site or in the ReStore. The health and safety of our staff and volunteers comes first. In order to keep everyone safe, we need to put volunteering on a temporary pause. We apologize for the inconvenience.
