Clean up canyons in City Heights

Volunteers will sign up as a household (or individuals) to clean up around their block or at designated Litter Hotspots on the Community Hub. Please clean up only at your requested location to avoid gathering. As a virtual cleanup, there will not be a main meeting point – you will simply clean up in your designated area between 8am and 11am. Note that this is a street cleanup only; do not enter into nearby canyons. Volunteers will be asked to report their cleanup details via a survey after the event so we can track each household’s impact.

We provide community service hours and Letters of Appreciation for volunteers. This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn ways to protect our local environment! This event also qualifies for the VOLUNTEER rocker in the 2020 patch set! Details on how to request these items will be sent after the event to registered volunteers.

Volunteers are asked to use their own reusable and repurposed items such as buckets, grocery bags, work/garden/dish gloves, and refillable water bottles to promote zero waste practices and help us in our mission to have a zero waste, litter free and environmentally engaged San Diego region! Limited disposable supplies will be available.

Open to City Heights residents only to avoid a spread of COVD-19.
